It is officially that time of the year where we have this statement running through our minds , "wow the year passed by so fast".
Yes friend yet another year has passed by and we need to start mentally preparing ourselves for the upcoming year.
What does this look like ? Well before taking your much needed end of year rest , its best to start planning for your 2022 marketing . This is rather essential in that you get to save time and effort and walk into the year ready to go.( As I have mentioned , mentally preparing yourself for the next year)

YOU NEED TO LOOK BACK

It works to your advantage to review your strategy for 2021 in order to see what worked for you and your brand over the past year and what did not .As I always say you need to be honest with yourself . Did your marketing translate in the way you had expected ? Did you achieve your goals ? Are you proud of how things unfolded over the year?
Review your analytics in order to see what you can actually work on . If you were not keeping track of your analytics , it is an indicator to start tracking your results .
PICK YOURSELF UP AND LOOK FOWARD

With all the necessary data that you need from both a qualitative and quantitative angle then goal setting becomes easier. Your marketing goals need to be SMART( Specific, Measurable, Attainable , Realistic , Time bound ) goals . Telling you this makes me sound like my mother who has preached this to me since I was a kid but I have no quarrel with it cause it does actually work because it teaches you to be intentional .
In addition to this you get clearer about what your KPI's will be for the next year. Measuring the success of your marketing strategy can be tricky if you look at it as a whole so having an indicator of what you term as success will guide you better on what you are working towards.
KNOWING YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

I know the phrase that says you should not compare yourself to others and that you should focus on watering your own grass, which is true . However , no man is an island and as you plan out your strategy you need to be aware of what your strengths and weaknesses are as a brand in comparison to other brands within your niche.
This will serve as a motivating factor more you in that you can plan on elevating your weaknesses and perfecting your strengths which will lead to the overall growth of your brand in the upcoming year.
